6-14-08 Christy and Daryl were married at Faith Lutheran Church in West Columbia, South Carolina. It turned out to be a beautiful day. This was a very special wedding for me. Daryl is my cousin and we’ve been waiting for and anticipating this wedding for two years. We had a great three person photography team and were able to cover every minute. My mom, Cindy, has a wonderfully creative eye, my husband Casey is wonderful at getting those awesome candid moments and my specialty is getting people to open up in front of the camera.
Christy did much of the decorating and work herself, but you wouldn’t know it to look at it. Every detail was perfect. It was a rainy week up to the wedding, but the day was gorgeous.
Part of what I love about being a husband and wife team is we can cover both the groom getting ready and the all important bride dressing images. Casey got some wonderful stuff of Daryl, and here’s a little preview for him.
Christy was absolutely gorgeous and a natural in front of the camera. Her dress was so perfect for her and I couldn’t resist getting a shot of it in this cool church window.
This bracelet was Christy’s “something old.”
Chloe, Daryl’s niece was the flower girl and she was a total doll. Her dress was adorable.
They’re a good looking couple, thats for sure.
The ceremony was touching. I have to admit, I cried a little behind my camera. Their comments to each other even got Daryl a little choked up.
Chloe wasn’t as emotional, however.
The entire wedding party was made up of family members.
They gave us a good chunk of time between the ceremony and the reception to get some special images of the two of them together. This is just one preview to give them a taste, but the entire session was well worth the time away from the reception! Those few extra minutes give us time to make stunning images of the intimacy and that special glow that happens right after you’re married.
The reception was a blast! I don’t think I’ve ever had that much fun at a wedding reception. Robert Elwood of PartyTime DJ’s did a fantastic job of keeping the party going! The food was incredible as well. One of the prettiest spreads I’ve seen in a while.
The bubble-blowing exit was a fun way to end a fun evening. I wish you all the best, you two. You have something special with each other. Hold onto that and nurture it every day.
